How to Download & Install Pewbeam
Downloading and Installing Pewbeam
- Download the latest version of Pewbeam from pewbeam.com/download. Pewbeam is available for macOS and Windows.
- Open the downloaded file, click to run the installer, and follow the onscreen instructions.
- On first launch, Pewbeam will automatically set up its internal components. This may take a minute.

Pewbeam Dashboard - What Each Panel (Box) Does
When Pewbeam opens, its main dashboard is organized into six primary boxes (panels). Below is a detailed breakdown of each panel, where it can be found, and what it does, so you can start enjoying Pewbeam as soon as possible:

| Context Search | Bottom left, next to Book Search | Search for a verse by topic, theme, or phrase |
| Preview | Bottom center-right | Shows how a verse will look before going live |
| Queue | Bottom right | Verses lined up and ready to display during the service |
1. Live Transcript Panel
- Location: Top left of the main dashboard.
- Purpose: Displays the real-time speech-to-text transcription as the sermon is being preached. This is Pewbeam listening.
2. Recent Detections Panel
- Location: Top center-left of the main dashboard.
- Purpose: Automatically surfaces Bible verses detected from the live sermon. Each detection comes with a confidence score so you can see how certain Pewbeam is about each match.
3. Live Display Panel
- Location: Top center-right of the main dashboard.
- Purpose: Shows the verse that is currently staged and being sent live. This is what your operator controls before it reaches the audience.
4. Main Output Panel
- Location: Top right of the main dashboard.
- Purpose: Shows exactly what your audience is seeing on the projector or external display right now.
5. Lexicon
- Location: Top right, below the Main Output panel.
- Purpose: A live projection tool that displays the Greek or Hebrew meaning of a word mid-sermon. Available on all plans including the free plan.
6. Bible Translation Selector
- Location: Bottom left of the main dashboard.
- Purpose: Lets you switch between available Bible translations at any time during the service. The selected translation applies immediately to search results and verse display.
7. Book Search
- Location: Bottom left, next to the Bible Translation Selector.
- Purpose: Look up any verse directly by reference. Type the book, chapter, and verse and Pewbeam takes you straight there.
8. Context Search
- Location: Bottom left, next to Book Search.
- Purpose: Search for a verse by topic, theme, or phrase when you do not know the exact reference. Pewbeam uses AI to understand meaning, not just keywords.
9. Preview Panel
- Location: Bottom center-right of the main dashboard.
- Purpose: A staging area that shows how a selected verse will look on screen before you send it live to the audience.
10. Queue Panel
- Location: Bottom right of the main dashboard.
- Purpose: Holds verses your team has prepared and lined up ready to display during the service.
How to Start Transcribing
- Click Start transcribing in the Live Transcript panel.
- Start speaking or play a sermon. Detected verses will appear in the Recent Detections panel.
- You can pause and resume transcription at any time using the pause and play button in the Live Transcript panel.
- Watch the audio meter bars in the Live Transcript panel. When Pewbeam is picking up sound, the bars will move. If they are flat, check your microphone or audio input.
Tip: Pewbeam includes an interactive tutorial on first launch. You can restart it anytime from Settings > Help > Restart Tutorial.

- To restart the dashboard tour anytime, go to Settings > Help > Restart Tutorial.
